Root Canals in Clermont

What is a Root Canal?

A root canal is a dental procedure designed to save a tooth that has been badly damaged due to decay, infection, or injury. During a root canal, the infected or inflamed pulp (the soft tissue inside the tooth) is removed, and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned, disinfected, and sealed. This process helps prevent further damage and allows you to keep your natural tooth.

Why Should I Get a Root Canal?

There are several reasons why your dentist may recommend a root canal. If you have a deep cavity, a cracked tooth, or a tooth that has undergone multiple dental procedures, you may be at risk for developing an infection in the tooth’s pulp. Left untreated, this infection can lead to severe pain, an abscess, and even tooth loss. A root canal can:

Types of Root Canals

Anterior Root Canal

An anterior root canal is performed on teeth located in the front of the mouth, such as incisors and canines. These teeth typically have a single root and are easier to treat.

Premolar Root Canal
Premolars, located behind the canines, may have one or two roots. A premolar root canal involves treating these teeth, which can be slightly more complex than anterior teeth.
Molar Root Canal
Molars, the teeth in the back of the mouth, can have up to four roots. Molar root canals are the most complex due to the intricate root structure and can take longer to complete.

Here’s How It Works

At Restoration Dental, we’ve invested in state-of-the-art technology and our own in-office lab to make your implant journey as smooth and efficient as possible. Here’s what you can expect:

Diagnosis and Planning

Using our state-of-the-art CBCT scanner, we take detailed 3D images of your tooth and surrounding structures. This allows us to accurately diagnose the issue and plan your root canal treatment.

Root Canal Procedure

During the procedure, we numb the area around the affected tooth to ensure your comfort. We then create a small opening in the tooth to access the pulp chamber and root canals. The infected or damaged pulp is carefully removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and shaped.

Restoration

After the root canal, we seal the tooth with a biocompatible material to prevent future infection. In most cases, we recommend placing a custom-made crown to protect and strengthen the tooth. Our in-office CEREC technology allows us to design, create, and place your crown in a single visit.

Tools That Elevate Your Experience

Our cutting-edge tools are designed to provide reliable, long-lasting results that look and feel natural.

Micron Mapper

The Micron Mapper allows us to detect early signs of tooth decay and structural changes in your enamel. This technology enables proactive treatment, helping us identify teeth that may benefit from a root canal before more serious issues develop.

CEREC Technology

With our CEREC technology, we can design, create, and place custom ceramic crowns in a single visit. This means you can have your root canal and receive your final restoration on the same day, saving you time and ensuring a perfect fit.

CBCT

Our Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scanner provides highly detailed 3D images of your teeth, jaw, and facial structure. This technology is invaluable for diagnosing dental issues and planning root canal treatments, ensuring precision and accuracy.

Post-Op Care

At Restoration Dental, our commitment to your well-being extends beyond the procedure itself. Our team is here to provide you with comprehensive post-operative care, so you can enjoy a smooth and comfortable recovery.
